Spiritual Strength For Each Day

“And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses’ hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him” (Exodus 34:29).

Unconscious holiness is something wonderful. It is the breakthrough of the shining of the glory of God in the life of a person. It is radiated unconsciously, because it is a work of the Holy Spirit and not the product of religious camouflage of the ego. What is the goal of your sanctification? Moses’ goal was the Lord. Living in His presence, he reflected the glory of God. His face shone because he remained consistently in the presence of God, “And he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights” (Exodus 34:28). We could praise Moses and say, that man really took the time to have fellowship with the Lord! But I am much more amazed at how much time the Lord takes to reveal His glory and His thoughts to the individual, as He did to Moses. Moses surely had reason to be tense and say, “I don’t have time; thousands of people are waiting for me.” But he persevered in the presence of the Lord. Do likewise.
