Spiritual Strength For Each Day
“Yea, let God be true, but every man a liar” (Romans 3:4).
This is a hard saying! When a child is born, we say that it sees “the light of day.” In reality, however, this child only sees the world’s light. The light that comes from man is a false light. Only those who live in Jesus Christ have “the light” and are themselves lights of the world. Then deception is impossible. When we drive a car at night, we see the white pavement markers at the side of the road, but they are not lights; they are only the reflection. Those lights shine only so long as the car’s headlights shine on them. It is strange but also shocking that many believers are only lights when they are illuminated by others. This is the cause of the shipwreck of so many who believe and yet continually fall and backslide. Where does this come from? It is because they do not have a real, vital relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. If you have to live from the experiences of other believers, it will remain dark within you. Is this your trouble? Then look to Jesus: let His light shine through you when you have put your trust in Him personally.
