Spiritual Strength For Each Day

“We know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is” (1 John 3:2).

Many believers are perplexed when they come across events in the Bible where the Lord reveals Himself visibly to people. We have the announcing of the birth of Samson, for instance, through an angel of the Lord, or that of the birth of Jesus to Mary through the angel Gabriel. Have you ever thought how wonderful it would be if something extraordinary would happen to you, if a messenger from heaven would stand before you and announce something to you or give you a commission? Would it be easier for you to believe if that would happen? No, be thankful that you do not experience such things, for the more you see, the harder it is for you to believe. Even Zacharias doubted after the appearing of the angel and his promise. Peter says to the many believers who love the Lord although they have never seen Him, that this will take place and then their joy will be all the greater. When will this be? At the moment when our eyes are opened at the Rapture. Then we shall see Him as He is with unspeakable joy.
