Spiritual Strength For Each Day

“Rejoice in the Lord always; and again I say, Rejoice” (Philippians 4:4).

The Lord Jesus said, “Ye are the light of the world” (Matthew 5:14). Light is seen. It does not speak; it shines. And true joy, not synthetic joy, is infectious. Ephesians 3:16 says, “That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man.” Divine strength will be perceptible to our surroundings. People who live in spiritual powerlessness are overcome with a great desire to have this strength. Does His strength shine through your weakness, or do you have to compensate the strength you lack with many words? The Lord Jesus says that He wants to give us rest, “…learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls” (Matthew 11:29).  This presupposes that we go to Him! How wonderful it is when a child of God radiates this serenity in the midst of the hectic of daily life! This touches the hearts of the people of today, and they begin to desire what that child of God has. They begin to want Jesus and to pray, “Give me peace in the strife of this world.”
