Spiritual Strength For Each Day
“Thou art wearied in the greatness of thy way” (Isaiah 57:10).
The reason that we are so often incapable of putting on the victorious power and strength of the Lord in our weakness is that we have a divided heart, with divided expectations. We are waiting in our daily lives for many things, just not for Jesus alone. And because He does not have highest priority in your life, much of what you had such high hopes for fails. I am reminded of the Word of the Lord here through the prophet Haggai, “Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes” (Haggai 1:6).
This is because your own ego has priority and the Lord takes second or even third place. Let me point out that the Lord is examining you right now to see where your priorities lie. He is examining the depths of your heart. Whoever tries to keep from Him what belongs to Him proves that his heart is divided where the Lord is concerned. Such a person is not blessed.
