Spiritual Strength For Each Day
“God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation” (2 Corinthians 5:19).
What does the blood of Jesus mean to you? We may not merely consider this abstractly. Our hearts must be moved, for, “without shedding of blood is no remission” (Hebrews 9:22). The first and basic statement of this verse refers without question to the atoning sacrifice of our Lord Jesus, but it is simultaneously directed at us too. Have we actually realized what the Bible means by the blood of Jesus Christ? Blood and life are inseparable. We understand the blood of Jesus to be a means that works wonders, but in reality, Jesus made complete atonement through the pouring out of His precious blood on Calvary’s Cross.
Do you realize the responsibility we have when we realize the wonderful power of the blood of Jesus, and do not follow Him decisively? Remember, the Lord through His death caused the unbridgeable gap between God and your soul to be reestablished. Have you fully walked across this bridge by calling out with all of your heart: “My God, I have decided eternally that I am yours!”?
