Spiritual Strength For Each Day

“By faith he [Abraham] sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country” (Hebrews 11:9).

If you are determined to follow the Lamb, you need not be surprised if the way is lonely. As a born-again Christian, you are no longer a guest and a stranger in the Lord’s eyes, but a citizen with the saints and members of God’s household. Yes, your life is hidden with Christ in God. The other side of the coin is that you become more and more of a stranger here on earth. The more intimate your fellowship with the Lord is, the more rejection you will experience from a world that that is permeated by the antichristian spirit. The way following Jesus is very narrow. The spirit of compromise, all worldly baggage and your own self have no room in it. This narrow way often divides us inwardly from our relatives and friends, who do not want to go this way to the cross. But it is the only way that leads to a meeting with Jesus in the clouds of heaven. We are strangers like Abraham, and look forward to His day with joyful expectation. Jesus will come suddenly—perhaps today—and we who are alive and remain will be transformed and be raptured into His presence. Will you have part in this joyful event?
