Spiritual Strength For Each Day

“Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life” (Revelation 2:10).

Tribulation has blessed results. God’s Word teaches us that “…we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God” (Acts 14:22). Why is this? It is because, “Our light affliction [or tribulation], which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory” (2 Corinthians 4:17). What are the blessed results of tribulation?
• Tribulation moves us to pray more fervently, so that we begin to attach more value to the working of God than our own working, “Let him [the Lord] deliver me out of all tribulation” (1 Samuel 26:24).
• Tribulation helps us experience the joy of the Lord in a special way, “I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation,” wrote Paul in 2 Corinthians 7:4.
• In tribulation, we experience the comfort of the Lord in a special way, “Blessed be God…who comforteth us in all our tribulation” (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).
• Tribulation teaches us that which we normally seldom possess, namely patience, “Tribulation worketh patience” (Romans 5:3).
Paul also asks in Romans 8:35, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation…?” And he answers his own question in verse 37, “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”
