Spiritual Strength For Each Day
“…I will love him, and will manifest myself to him” (John 14:21).
Whatever may have happened in your life, whatever sins you may have committed, if you, like Peter, say to your Lord today, “Lord, Thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee” (John 21:17), He will reveal Himself to you. The reason that you, as a child of God, are not filled with the Holy Spirit is that the Lord Jesus has not been able to reveal Himself to you. There are many people who sincerely believe in Jesus Christ, but lack the revelation of Him up to the present day. One thing is sure: those who believe in Him experience His victorious power. But here we come to the point where it goes much deeper. To those who testify of their love through obedience to His Word, He will reveal Himself. And when He reveals Himself to you, this is never an end in itself. Rather, the Lord has given you the task of passing on this revelation. Peter was told, “Feed my lambs...feed my sheep” (John 21:15-17). With Peter, we see how love germinates and grows. The love of God is eternal, however, for God Himself is love. When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, He unites us through Jesus Christ with the Father, so that His love is planted in us and begins to grow.
