Spiritual Strength For Each Day

“Ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:58).

We must go much deeper into this labor; it must be “…in the Lord.” Only then will our work for Him be of eternal value. To work “in the Lord” does not simply mean to run the course and endure hardship, but to maintain our lifelong fellowship with Him under all circumstances. This passivity in Jesus is the highest divine activity. How often do the Scriptures tell us that the Lord will work for us? What do you have to do then? Simply trust in Him: “Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass” (Psalm 37:5).
He, the Lord, wants to guide you clearly and unmistakably in all things. Once again, what do you have to do? The answer: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
He wants to fight for you against your enemies who threaten you. What do you have to do? “The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace” (Exodus 14:14).  When will you learn to be still? Only then will you experience His strength, “In quietness and in confidence shall be your strength” (Isaiah 30:15).
