Spiritual Strength For Each Day

“Abide in me, and I in you” (John 15:4).

The Lord is speaking here of the vital organic union with Him. Christ in me is the guarantee of victory over my flesh and blood. I in Christ is the realization of the victory of Jesus Christ through me, and over all the dark powers of the enemy around me.
If this organic union with Jesus is a reality in your life, however, then the enemy will try by all means to interrupt this wonderful cycle. Keep this blessed cycle all the more in your sights: Christ in you and you in Him. His love is your love, His power is your power, His victory is your victory, His patience is your patience. Let me emphasize this once more: the enemy will try with all his might to interrupt this blessed cycle. Many children of God who are not watchful succumb to the cunning attempts of the devil. Not in vain does Peter warn us, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: whom resist stedfast in the faith” (1 Peter 5:8-9). If you do not resist temptation in faith, you will sin in thought, word and deed, and then spiritual circulation problems will arise.
