Spiritual Strength For Each Day
“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him” (Hebrews 11:6).
3. Be prepared to believe.
“Faith” is a term today that sounds very trite, because so few people have faith. And yet it is something alive, for through faith we can have everything. This is closely connected with being prepared to be truthful. If we are not prepared to be truthful in our hearts, we have correspondingly little faith, for faith in my heart is as strong as the truth in me. We see these connections in Hebrews 10:22, “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith….” In other words, we are incapable of believing if we are not truthful. If I seek the Lord and really want to find Him, but my heart is clinging to other things, then my prayer has no power, because that which I say in my prayer is not really true. If I am a liar,
I cannot believe. We pray for revival and all sorts of things, and then when the answer comes, we are still unbelieving. There are great areas before us that remain to be possessed, for everything is possible to those who believe!
