Spiritual Strength For Each Day
“Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted” (Hebrews 2:17-18).
Many people are seeking help in their desperation today. Some look for help from psychologists and psychiatrists, yet they do not find true help. Why not? Because outward help does not bring inward help. Your trouble is not outward but inward, in your heart, which is why only Jesus can help you. He can help you inwardly because He was made like you and me. He took your sin also upon Himself, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” (2 Corinthians 5:21). This means that Jesus Christ identified Himself completely with your and my sin, with our corrupt being, on the cross at Calvary.
Are you afraid of death? The Lord Jesus was made one with your fear of death, for when He, the Eternal One, died, He overcame the one who had the power of death, namely the devil. Therefore, only Jesus can help you.
