Spiritual Strength For Each Day
“And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light” (2 Corinthians 11:14).
The Lamb of God conquered Satan on Calvary’s cross. Not by might, nor by power, but by His Spirit, through His nature (cf. Zechariah 4:6). This is the strategy of Jesus Christ.
The most frequently employed tactic of the enemy is cunning camouflage. He pretends to be an angel of light, and so he is able to sit today in the midst of the Church of Jesus Christ. He wants to do away with the cross. Believers today act the same as the children of the world, and children of the world often look like “believers.” There seems to be no difference between them. What tactics should we use to confront the enemy and avoid this trap? Do the opposite: instead of camouflage and lies, use truth! Let us consider here the divine armor: “Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness” (Ephesians 6:14). The truth always exposes lies. If we confront our opponent in disguise, that is, insincerely, our confession of the Lord has no effect, because our hearts are lying. This is the terrible spirit of disguise in the Church: sins are covered, camouflaged and the enmity of the cross is wrapped in a pious covering. But when you follow truth, you will experience Jesus as the Victor; then truth will be victorious. Gird your loins with truth!
