Spiritual Strength For Each Day

“After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands” (Revelation 7:9).

The last book of the Bible, the Revelation, reveals the glory of the Lamb to us. There we see the position of the Lamb before God. The throne of God is seldom mentioned without the Lamb. We read in Revelation 7:10, “And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.” And in Revelation 22:1, “And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.”

Then the Lamb is revealed to us as the center of the glory of God, and that in all eternity. There is no life, no eternal life, outside of the Lamb of God, “And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life” (Revelation 21:27).  God has given the Lamb the task of the “registration” of the saved. Only those who have received the nature of the Lamb at the rebirth can see the Lamb one day, “We know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is” (1 John 3:2).
