Spiritual Strength For Each Day
- Who is Jesus? He is the Lamb of God, the perfect sacrifice, the Good Shepherd. He is the door, the way to the Father.
- Who was Jesus? Peter says that He was pure, unblemished and innocent. Paul testified that He knew of no sin. But the inner desire for the fire that was to burn was not ignited through the purity and sinless nature of Jesus alone. Many know that they have been cleansed through the blood of Jesus and have been justified through the name of our Lord Jesus. But this fact does not ignite the fire of the Holy Spirit, and thereby I come to a further important question.
- How did Jesus live? In obedience! “He humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross” (Philippians 2:8). Here we come nearer to the mystery of the ever-burning fire, the revelation of His commission, “I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled? But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished” (Luke 12:49-50). Jesus laid aside His rightful glory so that the fire could be ignited on earth through Him.
