Spiritual Strength For Each Day

“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him” (Colossians 2:6).

What makes our walk with God unsure and faltering? There are so many children of God whose faith lives are a continual up and down. At times they are hastening forwards rejoicing, and at other times they are resigned and lie like Elijah “under a juniper tree.” Is He, the Lord, unsure? Is He fearful? Is He powerless? No, never! The Scriptures tell us of Him, “He is the rock” (Deuteronomy 32:4). We are surrounded by the threatening power of darkness, but we do not need to be despondent for we are walking with the living God.  It is not necessary for you to be oppressed by the menacing powers of darkness, the powers of blasphemy and weariness. David cried out in the face of such trials, “Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.” The reason for his fearlessness was, “…for thou art with me” (Psalm 23:4). Walk with the living God as though only you and He were in this world. For Him even darkness is light, “…for thou art with me.”
