BRAZIL - Global South Arising
Chinese President Xi Jinping announced a raft of measures designed to support the “Global South” at a gathering of leaders of the Group of 20 (G20) major economies in Rio de Janeiro, China’s state television CCTV reported.
In his first remarks at the G20 Summit, Xi said China would support global development with eight actions, including building a “high quality” Belt and Road Initiative, his signature foreign policy plan that directs large Chinese investments to infrastructure projects in the developing world.
While the rise of the Global South in the G20 has caused some discomfort among richer countries, it presents an opportunity for China, given its close economic and political ties with most of the developing world, particularly in Africa, where it is a major lender.
The concept of the Global South emerged to designate developing, emerging or lower-income countries, mostly in the southern hemisphere, and replace the term “Third World” after the 1945-90 Cold War.

Arno's Commentary
This development lines up with our understanding of the prophetic Word for planet earth.
With China now holding the world’s undisputed top spot as factory to the world, it has developed infrastructure throughout the Global South, particularly Africa, as no other has.
The G20 represents the world’s largest economies. Although China belongs to the Northern Hemisphere, they have become the leading nation to support and strengthen the Southern nations.
The BRICS group (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) did not originate in China or elsewhere, but in the USA. Actually, the group began in 2006, when the foreign ministers of Brazil, Russia, India, and China met in New York City.
A Google source from 2001 reads: “Goldman Sachs economist introduced the term ‘BRIC’ in his paper, ‘Building Better Global Economics: BRICs.’ O’Neill predicted that the BRIC economies (Brazil, Russia, India, and China) would become the world’s dominant economies by 2050.”
This all is the fruit of the unifying spirit of the end times. Instead of war and destruction, commercialism is now the future.
While prophecy scholars popularly target anti-Western nations, the Bible clearly confirms that all nations of the world—regardless of their political and cultural association—have one thing in common: peace and prosperity, but without God the Creator.
Revelation 19:19 declares: “And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.” The “kings of the earth” means every government of the world. Why? Because the god of this world is in control, for the Bible says, “he who sins is of the devil”—there’s no exception.
What is the ultimate goal? “To make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.” Who is the One? Verse 16 declares: “And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”
The world will and must follow the global unifying spirit to create peace and prosperity for all, but without the God of creation.
