QATAR - PA Cancels Al Jazeera TV
The Palestinian Authority temporarily halted operations of Qatar’s Al Jazeera television in the territory including its broadcasts, citing the network’s dissemination of “inciting material,” the Palestinian news agency WAFA said.
The Palestinian Authority criticized Al Jazeera over its coverage of the weeks-long standoff between Palestinian security forces and militant fighters in the Jenin camp in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.
Fatah, the faction that controls the Palestinian Authority, said the broadcaster was sowing division in “our Arab homeland in general and in Palestine in particular.” It encouraged Palestinians not to cooperate with the network.

Arno's Commentary
PA stands for the Palestinian Authority. They are responsible for law and order in their territory. The PA declared itself to be the State of Palestine, and as of June 2024, 140 nations have recognized that state.
Wikipedia writes about Al Jazeera: “In March 2003, it launched an English-language website. The name of the website was ‘Al Jazeera Net’; it was launched by younger journalists. The site published various stories covered by the network, but it did not depend on Arabic-language channels and websites. The website aimed to connect to the Western audience, cooperate with BBC, and be ‘a global citizen’s home page.’”
Al Jazeer Media works in cooperation with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). What is their aim? “A global citizen’s homepage.”
For Christians, it is valuable to know that the so-called “State of Palestine” is not located in the “West Bank,” but is Arab-occupied Israeli territory, the Biblical Judea and Samaria.
