Spiritual Strength For Each Day
“Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love” (Revelation 2:4).
The Rapture is also the meeting of the Bridegroom with His Bride in the clouds of heaven. The Bride has a bridal love for the Bridegroom and waits longingly for Him. She has adorned herself for Him and is ready for His coming. But listen to what the coming Bridegroom said to the believing Christians in Ephesus, “Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.” This is the terrible thing in our day. We see many around us falling because they no longer have this fervent first love, this bridal love and devotion to Jesus Christ, because they have no more spirit of prayer and no longer give their lives for the lost. They have become indifferent. Dare we pose the question resulting from this fact: who will participate in the event of the Rapture? Will the whole Church be raptured or only an elite few? The answer is that the Church of Jesus Christ is an elite in itself. Therefore, the whole Church will be raptured, but not all belong to the Church who think they do. Who is ready to meet the Lord? It is almost too simple to say: those who are waiting for Him. Such people are living in their first love for the Lord.
