#1085 How Prophecy was fulfilled at Christmas

When Bible-believing Christians celebrate the remembrance of Christ’s birth, we read the Word of God from Luke 2:10-11: “And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.”

No true Christian would think to see something different in Christmas than the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. On the contrary, in the celebration of Christmas we hear about Jesus’ great victory over pagan cults, which He has displaced. For instance, the Christmas celebration has led to the displacement of the Roman pagan “Solstice.” The coming of Jesus reminds us that He broke the power of Satan and paganism. Whereas in earlier times idols and pagan altars were worshiped, Christ will be remembered today.
