Spiritual Strength For Each Day
“All that the Lord hath said will we do” (Exodus 24:7).
Israel vowed to do everything the Lord had said on Mount Sinai, but very soon the whole nation became apostate. God takes our decisions seriously, and He adds to our spiritual will also the ability to do His will (see Philippians 2:13). Everything remains theory in our lives, however, if we refer to the Word but do not lead a prayer life. In other words, the Word of God only has its powerful, abiding effect on our emotional hang-ups when we talk with the Lord. Through the Bible God speaks to you, and in prayer you speak to Him. In spirit I want to take you by the hand and ask you to stop for a moment and answer the following question: Are you still a prayer warrior, in spite of all your activity and stress? How much time did you spend before the Lord today? Did you get through to Him? Or did you plunge yourself into your daily routine, after a quiet time? Was the fire of your first love rekindled in your heart? It is my heartfelt plea that after reading these lines, you will humble yourself before God and say, “Lord, I will never again neglect to put my devotion to You into daily practice; I want to keep my vow to You from now on.”
