Spiritual Strength For Each Day

“Without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory” (1 Timothy 3:16).

The desperate plight of many Christians is that they do not know Jesus. They know Him by name, from hearing Him proclaimed, but they do not know Him by nature. Those who know the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, in His innermost being, find discipleship sheer joy and glory, even if they experience tribulation. We even find this tragedy in some of the disciples, that they did not really know Him. To Philip He says, “Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip?” (John 14:9). Let us take more note in our personal lives of the Lord’s statement, “Where I am, there shall also my servant be” (John 12:26).

Where was He when He first came to this earth? In Bethlehem. His life began in humility. And where did His earthly life end? In the deepest humiliation and suffering on Calvary’s cross. There nobody wants to seek Him and find Him, but it is there that you will come to know Jesus, and there He will reveal Himself to you.
