Spiritual Strength For Each Day

“Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees. Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you” (Isaiah 35:3-4).

This is a very concrete promise for all who realize that they are tired. “Behold, your God will come….” Usually, physical tiredness is soon overcome, but spiritual tiredness is often quite insidious. We read in the book of Jeremiah, “For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul” (31:25). A plainer translation of this verse reads, “I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.” This promise of God may be fulfilled now in our lives. How can we say this with such certainty? Because God wants to fulfill His promises always. We must learn to take note of what God wants to do and what He does not want to do. He not only wants to refresh the weary and worried soul, but He will also do it! There are no limits to the power of our God. This is written so wonderfully in Isaiah 40:28, “Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of his understanding.”

Those who have fellowship with the living God through the Lord Jesus Christ are connected to an inexhaustible source of power.
