#1083 Judgment and Restoration
The ten-tribe Israel is distinctly different from Judah-Israel. We read, “So Israel rebelled against the house of David unto this day” (1 King 12:19). The three prophets, Hosea, Amos and Micah, expose Israel’s sin in an unmerciful manner, which leads to God’s declaration, “I will no more have mercy upon the house of Israel; but I will utterly take them away” (Hosea 1:6b).
Nevertheless, a remnant of the ten-tribe Israel is added to the tribe of Judah and is enveloped in the blessings, “I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him” (Hosea 14:4). The last verse of Micah reads, “Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old” (Micah 7:20).
A verse-by-verse Prophecy Study of Hosea, Amos and Micah.
