Spiritual Strength For Each Day
“Jesus…said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God? He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?” (John 9:35-36).
Jesus helps those who are not able to see Him, and those who, although they have sought Him, have not yet found Him. I am reminded of the man in the above text who was born blind. We see that he sought Him from the answer he gave Jesus to the question of whether he believed on Him, “Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?” What about you who are seeking Jesus? You do not see Him, you have not experienced His help yet, but you have the promise, “He that seeketh findeth” (Matthew 7:8). Only Jesus can help you! When the man who was born blind finds Jesus, the cause of his blindness is revealed by Jesus in a shocking way, “When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, and said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing” (John 9:6-7). Here cause and effect, dirt and blindness, are brought together. The cause of your inner blindness is the dirt of sin in you. Only Jesus can help you! Let Him convict you of your impurity, like the man who was born blind, and be willing to do something about the root of all impurity.
