Spiritual Strength For Each Day
“Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 15:57).
What is the strategy of the battle of faith that we have to fight? It is not ours directly, but it is the battle of the highest Captain. And our Captain is Jesus Christ, as it is written in Exodus 15:3, “The Lord is a man of war: the Lord is his name.” The question arises here, are we at war, then? Yes, as believers we are engaged in a war between life and death. The ignorance of many children of God where this is concerned is shocking. Let us remember, however, discipleship means involvement in the most severe and simultaneously most victorious war service. Many children of God do not recognize, however, that this war, this battle, is what they are appointed to. The Word of God says clearly that we are to “fight the good fight of faith” in 1 Timothy 6:12. Discipleship is not a war game but a serious battle. We are concerned with invisible, yet real and strong enemies who seek our downfall, but Jesus is Victor!
