Spiritual Strength For Each Day

“…Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee” (John 21:17).

Jesus helps the disqualified. This means, He helps those who are stuck and feel they are a failure. Peter was just such a disqualified person; he had failed miserably. Before a girl, he denied His Lord with a curse. After the Lord’s resurrection, Peter said to the other disciples, “I go a fishing” (John 21:3). We see in this his resignation; he is saying, “It’s no use. I’ve failed in my discipleship!” He felt himself disqualified. But there was no blessing on his former occupation, for we read at the end of the same verse, “…and that night they caught nothing.” Now, he is completely written off. But Jesus helps those who have failed, the disqualified, and in verse 4 we read, “But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore.” We know how He helped Peter. He struck the chord in Peter’s heart that made him exclaim, “Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee.” Has everything gone wrong for you in your life? Only Jesus can help you, and He wants to help you now!
